49er Grad Series: Champagne Pops 101

For THE LONGEST time, I thought that all you had to do was to shake a bottle of champagne and you had to be in luck for it to pop and spray like crazy!

Then one day, during a grad session, I saw another photographer whose client got their bottle to spray. We started to chat and he taught me this little trick below! I thought I’d share it with you all because the world needs A LOT more champagne pops.

After all, don’t save champagne for a special occasion — TODAY is a special occasion.

So, how do you pop it?!

Simply shake the bottle, pop the cap, place your thumb so that it covers HALF of the bottle’s hole, and just SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE!
